The District

The area, known to Parisians as "Novelles Athenes" refers to the gentrification of the neighborhood by artists, musicians and writers. The area is home to the famous department stores, Galeries Lafayette, and Printemps.

Centrally located, the apartment is next to the Church of the Madeleine, and the Romance museum, which is home to many posessions of George Sand.

The area is also known for its large boulevards, which were implemented by Baron Haussman, the urban planner under Napoleon's rule. Walking down the Boulevard Haussman, appropiately named after its creator, leads to the heart of Paris, the Louvre.
