The House

"La Maison de Creysse" is located in the middle of an open wooded area on approximately 2 hectares of land. It is situated right near a major hiking path and the surrounding woodlands provide beautiful views of the Dordogne River Valley. A paved driveway leads up to the beautiful country house. The house has a large tiled terrace and a covered porch that measures 35 meters. The terrace is equipped with an outdoor kitchen and outdoor living room, providing the perfect space to entertain friends or to relax and take in the surrounding landscape.

The interior of the house is spacious and sunny, with a kitchen, dining room, and living room that are interconnected.

When you climb the stairs to the first floor, you will find a bathroom, a bedroom, and the entrance to the lovely outdoor terrace.

The top floor has an additional bathroom and two bedrooms--one with a queen-size bed and one with twin beds.

The Region

Visitors to "La Maison de Creysse" will find that there is an infinite amount of things to do and areas of the countryside to explore during their time here. In the lovely village of Creysse, there is a local farmer's market every Tuesday evening during the summer. The much celebrated restaurant Auberge de L’lle is a lovely place for an evening out.

Just 3km away lies the beautiful medieval village of Martel, also known as the "village of the seven towers," with its shops (including Intermarche with a 24h/24h fuel service), medical offices (doctors, pharmacists, dentists, physical therapists, opticians), and banks (Credit Agricole , Banque Populaire and Banque Postale). Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, Martel hosts a large market in its covered hall, which was built in 1785 and rests on rock pillars.

The region affords visitors the perfect opportunity to leave behind the modern world. Whether you are out for adventure or relaxation, the beauty and resources of this region are unparalleled.

Food lovers can enjoy seasonal local delicacies such as walnuts, truffles, foie gras, melons, mushrooms, and famous Cahors wine. Many local wine and foie gras producers offer tastings and tours of their facilities.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the number and variety of activities is endless. You can swim in the fresh and invigorating water of the Dordogne River. Some visitors may be interested in fishing, hiking, biking, paragliding, golfing, or windsurfing on the nearby Causse Lake. Many find that the best way to spend a day is simply to canoe or kayak down the Dordogne River, observing the picturesque cliffs, castles, and hamlets along the way.
